Among the contributors to The Shakespeare Enigma were actors from Big Adventures Theatre Company (http://www.bigadventures.biz/). Steve Orme Productions filmed their delightful, outdoor version of The Taming of the Shrew. This led to Steve Orme Productions and Big Adventures collaborating on the first of a series of DVDs for schools called Shakespeare for the Modern Age.

The Bard’s darkest tragedy Macbeth was condensed into a 35-minute adventure in which Duncan King of Scotland becomes Duncan King, head of multi-national corporation King Enterprises.

Macbeth meets the three witches not on the heath but in the Heath nightclub where he is celebrating promotion as the new head of the Cawdor contract at King Enterprises.

Big Adventures adapted Shakespeare’s script and provided actors experienced in performing the Bard’s work in schools.

The DVD is available from Steve Orme Productions and is also on sale at the Shakespeare Bookshop in Stratford-on-Avon. It has been acquired for the American non-broadcast market by Films for the Humanities and Sciences and has been sold to the National University of Science and Technology in Malaysia.
